West Milford - Come join The West Milford Players for their 29th season, as they perform “Smokey Joe’s Cafe,” a musical revue by Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller. This action packed show — directed by Kevin Jakimas, with musical direction by Dave Yarrington— has hit songs from the 1950s and 1960s, such as “Fools Fall in Love,” “Poison Ivy,” “Yakety Yak,” “Charlie Brown,” “Broadway,” and “Hound Dog.” You will be tapping your toes and singing along. As always, in keeping with the tradition of giving back to the community, a portion of this show’s proceeds will benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation. “This is our 29th season and we hope that everyone will come see this wonderful show,” says Erika Crocco, president of the players. “The players are a group of volunteers who bring wonderful live theater to the local area at an affordable price. We are pleased to continue to donate some of the proceeds to a non-profit organization. We have chosen The Prostate Cancer Foundation this time as the organization to support for the wonderful work they do in finding a cure for this disease.” In the past, the group has donated to organizations such as Make A Wish Foundation, Care Packages for Troops, The WM Animal Shelter, PRIDE, The ASPCA NY/NJ Chapter, Avon Breast Cancer Awareness, & Toys for Tots. “We are extremely proud of the work we do not only on stage but the work we do for the community and worldwide.” Performance dates are February 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7 p.m. and Sunday shows are at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $18.00 for adults and $15.00 for students and seniors. All performances will be at Hillcrest Community Center, 1810 Macopin Road. For advanced tickets call 973-697-4400 or tickets can be purchased at the door.
