Theater interns will present summer musical

Sussex Tri-State Actors Theater Summer Intern Company will present “The Fantastic Return of the Fabulous Fable Factory,” a lively musical for all ages, Aug. 5 through 22, at the historic Crescent Theater. The 2,000-year-old factory, which travels about in time and space, attempts to return to the spot where it landed 30 years ago and reconnect the ensemble with its first temporary moral maker. In this musical sequel, co-authored by Joseph Robinette (“Charlotte’s Web,” “Stuart Little”) and Thomas Tierney (“Narnia”), Aesop and his colorful collection of factory parts are back again, with more fables and songs. As the story continues, many surprises await Aesop’s factory as it travels through time to encounter a much different world than before. This summer’s show celebrates Tri-State’s 22nd season of presenting classic theater for children and family audiences. The 2009 interns include: Alexis Alemy, Ali Castellucci, Lauren DeVore, Jonathan Dragon, Megan Good, Dallas Haines, Rebecca Kus, Kelly Osborne, Cody Riker, Alexa Ross and Jackie Torres. Chris Lance of Hackettstown serves as music director and conductor, with choreography by Anna Matthews of Sussex. The interns spend their three weeks of rehearsal time learning theater and acting techniques from Tri-State’s artistic director and founder, Paul Meacham. Tickets are $8 for ages 11 and under, and $10 for ages 12 and over. For tickets, information, and special services, call the box office at 973-875-2950. Group rates are available. The Crescent Theater is located at 74 Main St., in Sussex.
