Tri-State auditions student performers for musical

Sussex — Tri-State Actors Theater is auditioning students for its 2009 Young Performer Training Program. This season’s auditions will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, May 23, June 6 and 13. Auditions, open to students between the ages of 13 and 17, will be held at the theater, 74 Main Street, Sussex. The student intern production will be “The Fantastic Return of the Fabulous Fable Factory,” a musical based on Aesop’s Fables by Joseph Robinette and Tom Tierney. Auditioners will be asked to read from the script and sing a short song. Audition materials will be provided. Appointments are not necessary. Stage experience is helpful, but not a requirement for the audition. The program, now in its 22nd season, runs from July 13 through Aug. 22. Intern classes include voice, movement, and characterization study. Interns learn many of the aspects of a play’s production through hands-on experience. The “Fantastic Return” will run from Aug. 5 through Aug. 22. Interns must be available for all rehearsals and performances.
