VERNON-Last Friday night, Dominic Chianese, who plays Uncle Junior in the HBO series "The Sopranos", performed with his band The Cement Sidewalkers at Sofia's Grille at Legends Resort. Although he got caught up in traffic on Route 23 which caused him to begin an hour late, he played for two hours for approximately 100 people. Tickets were $25 per person with a $10 minimum, and guests were given a predominantly Italian menu to choose from. Included with his performance were a number of Italian songs that he learned from his grandfather when he was younger. After the show, Chianese signed autographs and posed for pictures for those in the audience who stayed. Sofia's also has other events planned for next month. On May 28, the Marvelettes are scheduled to perform for the same price as Chianese, and hip-hop musician Ushers' double platinum album Confessions will be celebrated on Saturday, May 1.
