SPARTA — The Vintage Fashion Costume Jewelry New Jersey/Metro Chapter will hold its semi-annual show and mini-convention on Saturday, March 7 at The Lake Mohawk Country Club in Sparta from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Members will provide a display of period costume jewelry in featuring designs of the famous vintage costume jewelry houses of the 1900s. Jewelry lovers, organizers said, will find vintage jewelry has a monetary and quality value attached to it alone. The signed pieces “have provenance that show historic worth,” said organizers. “It is this treasured antique jewelry which eventually becomes an heirloom, be it costume or estate jewelry.” This show is one of the longest continuous running shows of its kind, appealing both to collectors and hobbyists alike, according to event planners. The group is an international organization of collectors of vintage costume jewelry and welcomes new members. A quarterly magazine comes with membership. Admission is free and open to the public.
