World famous Boston Crusaders coming to town

Group to perform at West Milford High School July 5 West Milford — The West Milford High School Highlander Band will present “An Evening with the Boston Crusaders” at the high school athletic field on Sunday, July 5 at 7:30 p.m. The brass, percussion and dance of the Crusaders is fast, exciting and outstanding entertainment for the entire family—a great way to close out the holiday weekend. The Massachusetts-based Crusaders are the nation’s fourth oldest drum and bugle corps, visiting New Jersey as part of Drum Corps International’s Summer Music Games tour. The 150 members are high school and college students from 20 states and several foreign countries; they will travel 12,500 miles this summer, performing before over 300,000 fans. As a youth activity, competitive drum and bugle corps is an intense, choreographed musical experience staged on football stadium fields by students achieving high levels of excellence in performance. Through the drum and bugle corps experience, young people develop life skills including self-discipline, teamwork and leadership. Special guests on July 5 will be the Raiders from Wayne, N.J. The performances will benefit the Highlander Band and is also part of West Milford’s 175th anniversary festivities. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students; children 12 and under are free. A special VIP ticket is $25 and includes seating in a special reserved section and a pre-concert “behind the scenes” tour to meet the Crusaders members and staff and a glimpse of life on the road with 150 students. Tickets will be held at the stadium for pick up on July 5. Tickets will also be available at the gate on the night of the show.
