Young artists' work on display

    VERNON-During the months of July and August, the Vernon Board of Education Office is hosting an exhibit of first-grade artwork by this past year's first-graders of Walnut Ridge Primary School. The display represents a year of exploration of the visual arts and reflects some of the various projects created by students throughout the school year as part of the Visual Arts Curriculum. Works in a variety of media including dry pastel, oil pastel, tempera paint, collage and mixed media are exhibited. Pieces in this display were created under the direction of art teacher Denise Docherty, who is proud of the artistic achievement of all of her students. Works by the following students are featured in this show: Dan Balemian, Peter Bihler, Corinne Chiarchiaro, Timothy Dayon, Emily DeNaples, Kristen Dettloff, Rachel Graney, Brooke Harrsch, Krista Hill, Riley Keenan, Megan Kennedy, Mason Miller, Michael Mola, Katrina Nielsen, Larissa Oakley, Katie Parrish, Gabriella Shear, Robert Smith, Jared Sparta, Peter Thomsen, and Allie Wiseman.
