Delores P. Dobbs

    Dolores P. Dobbs (nee Purcell), 80 years old, died after a brief illness at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center, Narvon, Pa., on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014. Born to Lee T. and Dorothy Purcell in Paterson, she spent many years in Wayne, then Highland Lakes, for 15 years.

    Dolores graduated from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Montclair and worked as a secretary for Lee T. Purcell Associates Engineering and then owned Cedar Hill Crafts in Wayne and then worked as a realtor for Rita Casey/Century 21 in Wayne. She was a member and past president of the Vernon Township Historical Society where her favorite projects were the Barrett House and High Breeze Farm. She was a parishioner and member of the Rosary Society of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Highland Lakes.

    Dolores was predeceased by her husband, Dean M. Dobbs, Sr. (1999) and a brother, William Purcell, and was the devoted mother of Dean M. Dobbs, Jr. of Highland Lakes, Colleen Admirand of West Milford, Charette Radionoff of Hawley, Pa., and Suzanne Mayer of Akron, Pa., cherished by 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons. Dear sister of Lee Purcell, II of Basking Ridge, N.J., Fenton Purcell of Upper Saddle River, Margaret Mary Purcell of Brick and Mary Lou Smith of Spring Lake.

    The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94 (GPS is 1 Vanderhoof Court), Vernon on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 9 a.m.. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Highland Lakes, NJ at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Hardyston Twp., NJ.
