Paige Kenny of Glenwood was named treasurer of the Council for Exceptional Children at the University of Scranton for the 2013-14 academic year.

Kenny is a senior in the Jesuit university's Panuska College of Professional Studies.

Deanna Tornatore, a freshman at Northeastern University in Boston has finished her first semester in college with straight As and has been named to the Dean's List.

Nicholas Hoit, son of Fred and Melissa Hoit of Glenwood, has graduated magna cum laude from Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C., with a bachelor degree in Applied Science. He is a 2009 graduate of Vernon High School and will relocate to Denver to begin working with an energy company.

Erik Darker, a 2013 graduate of Vernon High School was named to the Dean's List at the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a GPA of 3.63. He is a resident of Glenwood.
