    Stockholm resident John F. Coleman has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester at Penn State in Hazleton, Pa. McAfee resident Nicole Pieri, a sophomore at The College of New Jersey, presented her poetry collection, “Things Being Born,” and her creative nonfiction piece, “Poems are Sounds,” during the March 25 to 27 international conference for Sigma Tau Delta, the International Honor Society in English, in Minneapolis. Pieri competed against more than 1,000 English majors nationwide to earn her spot in the program. Alissa Winters of Vernon has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester at Ramapo College of New Jersey. As one of the first NJSTARS students to graduate from Vernon High School, Winters was named to the dean’s list for all four semesters at Sussex County Community College and then qualified for the NJSTARS II program when she entered Ramapo College. She remained on the dean’s list since that time and works for Clear Channel Radio in Franklin. Sussex resident Kevin Grice, a Vernon Township High School graduate who is a junior attending the St. John’s University Tobin College of Business, has been elected to Beta Gamma Sigma, the highest academic honor a business student can earn. It is open only to students whose degree programs are professionally accredited by AACSB International. Grice has also been named to the dean’s list for fall 2008 semester. McAfee resident Perry Dziekanski was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Dziekanski is a graduate of Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y., and is enrolled in the university’s College of Arts & Sciences.
