    A group of area residents were recently named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at Bloomburg University of Pennsylvania. They are: Brian Rennalls, Lisa Koskulics, Lauren Zvolensky and Jamie Gillette of Budd Lake; Jason Pomeroy, Kathleen Morris, Erica Mosner, Kelly Hontz, Andrea Guillorn and Sarah Wedwick of Newton; Megan Quinn of Fredon, Marisa Peterson and Steven Codey of Hackettstown; Lisa Napovier and Jessica Zschack of Franklin; Christina Mulligan of McAfee; Taylor Moore, Ashley Ferrentino and Jennifer Bogert of Hopatcong; Jill Merson, Caitlin Gargiulo and Michelle Fanslau of Oak Ridge; Kimberly Krieger of Washington; Nicole Gerard and Angela Brown of Sparta; Michael Dalton of Lake Hoptocong; Ashley Bruker of Blairstown; Ashley Blanchard of Sussex; Justine Varro and Anthony Venturini of Hackettstwon; and Christina Smith of Lafayette. Three area residents recently received their bachelor’s degrees from Cornell Univeristy in Ithaca, N.Y. They are: Daniel Jay Currie of Glenwood, with a bachelor’s degree in biological engineering; Jonathan Rene Carroll of Sparta, with a bachelor’s degree in government; and Kira Alexandra Grant of Newton, with a bachelor’s degree in government. Wantage resident Katie Baldwin, a High Point Regional High School graduate and freshman psychology major at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa., has been chosen as a 2009 student orientation staff leader. She will assist with three summer orientation sessions designed to help acquaint incoming freshmen with the campus community. Heather Gregory BA Hamburg, NJ Seven area residents recently received their bachelor’s degrees from Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C. They are: Heather Gregory of Hamburg; Kelli Nilan of Sussex; Erin Compton of Vernon; Kevin Casse of Hackettstown; Krista Bird of Sparta; and Stanhope residents Lauren Merritt and Laura Ginder. Five area residents were recently named to the fall dean’s list at American University. They are: Lafayette resident Emily Lagg, a freshman majoring in literature; Sussex resident Jane Granville, a junior majoring in international studies; Sussex residentGarret Martucci, a junior majoring in political science; Andover resident Megan Daniele, a junior majoring in biochemistry; and Newton resident Julia Edwards, a freshman majoring in international studies. Newton resident Megan Perry received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Lynn University, in Boca Raton, Fla. Sparta resident James C. McMeen has graduated from Villanova Law School, with a degree of Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude. He was elected to the national honor society of the Order of the Coif and served as a managing editor of the Villanova Law Review. McMeen received two prizes: the Obert Award for excellence in business organizations and the Ullman Award for excellence in criminal law. After taking the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bar Exams this summer, he will begin work as an Associate Attorney at the law firm of Drinker Biddle & Reath, in Philadelphia. He is the son of Sheila and El McMeen of Sparta.
