    Andover resident Peter Altenburg was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester at the Hagan School of Business at Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y. Astin Adele Altenburg of Andover has named to the dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester at Radford University. Wantage resident Jennifer Catherine Mirro, who is majoring in theater with a concentration in acting at Ramapo College of New Jersey, was recently named to the 2008 edition of “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.” Mirro is a member of Alpha Psi Omega and is president of Omicron Delta Kappa Colleges Against Cancer Relay for Life Committee. Amy Desposito of Sussex was inducted into the Tau Delta chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association Honor Society, during the 2008-2009 academic year, at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Ct. Founded in 1985, Lambda Pi Eta recognizes, encourages, and rewards outstanding undergraduate scholarship in communication studies. Sussex resident Alyson R. Andresen, and Geoffrey P. Kelleman of Sparta were recently recognized as members of the Phi Beta Kappa chapter at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa. Andresen is an English and philosophy/political thought double major; and Kelleman is a Russian studies and finance double major. Phi Beta Kappa is a distinguished fellowship of scholars devoted to liberal education and intellectual pursuits. In addition, Kelleman received Muhlenberg’s Citizen Exchange Council Award in Russian studies, given annually to a student for his or her contributions to Russian studies. Thomas E. Burke, a 2008 Vernon High School graduate, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2008 semester at Hannibal LaGrange College in Hannibal, Mo. He was also named scholar athlete in the Mid-America Men’s Volleyball Intercollegiate Conference, and MVP of the Hannibal LaGrange men’s volleyball team.
