    Brittany Beckmann of Oak Ridge has been named to the dean’s list for the 2008-2009 academic year in the College of Nursing at Villanova University in Pennsylvania. Two area residents recently received their bachelor’s degrees from the University of Vermont in Burlington. They are: Kari Dalane of Sussex, with a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in philosophy; and Christopher Hellwig of Vernon, with a bachelor’s degree in animal sciences. Area students recently received degrees from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania, including Daniel R. LaTorraca, with a a bachelor’s degree in English and Carolyn E. See of Sussex, with a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. The following area residents were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at Northeastern University in Boston: Lafayette resident Jaclyn Albert, who is majoring in music; Ogdensburg resident Caitlin T. Dunn, who is majoring in liberal arts - science; Stockholm resident Charlene Armstrong, who is majoring in criminal justice; Sussex resident Rhiannon B. Quirk, who is majoring in chemical engineering; and Sussex resident Ashley Myslinski, who is majoring in music. Vernon resident Dana Zabrieski has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at Ramapo College of New Jersey in Mahwah. Ashley Whelan of Stockholm was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn. Recent Sussex County Community College business graduate Katherine Ross was inducted into the New Jersey Collegiate Business Administration Association. The NJCBAA was established in 2003 as a statewide honor society for students studying business at both two and four year colleges in New Jersey. She received an associate degree in business adminstration and the SCCC Excellence Award for Business Administration and will continue her education at Ramapo College this Fall majoring in Accounting. Hamburg resident Ellen Kolonoski received her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from The University of Scranton in Pennsylvania. In addition, Joseph C. Romano of Oak Ridge and Christopher R. Mefford of Hamburg both received bachelor’s degrees in accounting. Stephen DeMella of Hamburg was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at Ramapo College of New Jersey, where is is majoring in accounting. Two local residents recently graduated from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. They are: Angelica April Lombardi of Hamburg, with a bachelor’s degree in fine art- history; and Katherine C. Brian of Oak Ridge, with a master’s degree in educational psychology. Peter Murphy of Franklin recently graduated from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass., with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry.
