    Sparta resident Alexander Jelly has been named to the spring semester dean’s list at Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I. Ryan Henry Squillante of Sparta graduated with majors in biology and German at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. Cassandra Herbes of Sparta was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at Castleton State College in Castleton, Vt. Two area students were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at Northeastern University in Boston. They are: Lee M. Panecki of Newton and Jake T. Rogers of Sparta. Kaitlyn Heckenberger of Sparta graduated with honors from Sussex County Community College with an associate degree. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an honor society of higher education. Having played two years on the college’s women’s soccer team, she was awarded the distinction of Academic All-American. Awarded a High Point University Transfer Student Merit Scholarship, she will be transferring as a junior to High Point University in North Carolina this fall where she will studying marketing and communications and also enrolling in the Air Force ROTC program. Noelle Pensec of Sparta has been named to the dean’s list for the spring quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. A third year student in RIT’s School of Photographic Arts and Sciences, Pensec is studying biomedical photographic communications. Sparta residents Simon K. Foster and Kaila E. Hawriluk have been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at Albright College in Reading, Pa. Newton residents Spencer Scholz and Samuel Sloane have been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at the University of Vermont in Burlington. Wantage resident Laura Pardee has been recognized for academic achievement as a United States National Honor Student Award winner. Pardee, who attends Sussex County Technical School, will appear in the United States Achievement Academy’s Official Yearbook, which is published nationally. The award provides honor students with many benefits and services and is a tribute to a students’ dedication, talent, and ability. Dave Braneck of Sparta was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Three area students have been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania. They are: Liliana Castro of Newton; Meghan C. Lynch of Andover; and Erini Zakhra of Stanhope. Two area students received advanced degrees from Drew University in Madison. They are: Derek J. Groff of Sparta, with a doctorate degree; and Michael Edward Dellert of Sparta, with a master’s degree. Six area students were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 sememster at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa. They are: Highland Lakes residents Kathleen E. Brennan, Kevin M. Carney and Chelsea E. Wagner; Wantage residents Kelly F. Henderson and Erika R. Peter; and MaryKatherine E. Mitchell of Sussex. Highland Lakes resident John Reeth, a computer information technology major at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester. Christina A. Cosma of Stockholm was named to the spring dean’s list at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa. Cosma is a recent graduate in music. Sparta resident Naum Minchin has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2009 semester at Connecticut College in New London, Conn. Minchin achieved dean’s high honors. Three area students recently received their bachelor’s degrees from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. They are: Hopatcong resident Steven Streisguth, with a degree in illustration; Sparta resident Gina Rubinetti, with a degree in patining; and Stanhope resident Ryan Tighe, with a degree infilm/digital video. Three area residents have been named to the dean’s for the spring 2009 semester at Mount Ida College in Newton, Mass. They are: Melissa Tadiello of Highland Lakes; Victoria Johnson of Sparta, NJ; and Elyse Heine of Newton. Four Sparta residents have recently been named to the dean’s list at Boston University for the spring semester. They are: Carrie C. Belden, Amy L. Bettano, Nicolas C. Dahlberg and Emily P. Stypolkowski.
