Eagle Scout clears trails on college campus

Newton — Jack Lynch, 17, began work on a fitness trail on the campus of SCCC as part of his Eagle Scout project with Troop 95. Lynch and other scouts, along with community volunteers, cleared the trail and blazes trees to mark the trails. Four fitness stations will be installed for walkers and runners to monitor their pulse and cardiovascular activity. The Environmental Club will mark various trees and plants. The 1-mile trail was used many years ago by the cross country team at Newton High School.
