West Milford — The West Milford Education Foundation has announced its grant program recipients. This year, teachers made 55 grant requests from throughout the school district. Eighteen grants were awarded, totaling over $10,000. The teachers will report on the progress of their grants to the Board of Education in early 2010. The West Milford Education Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to focus financial and other resources, and community/private sector commitments, to benefit our public school children. This organization provides grants for new and existing programs, enhances the school district’s programs and curricula and also provides equipment and other materials that would not otherwise be available to our schools. The foundation’s annual fundraiser, A Taste of the Highlands, is the main source for funding the grant program.
