Hope Van Dyke makes all-academic squad

West Milford graduate a scholar athlete RUTHERFORD — Felician College junior and West Milford resident Hope Van Dyke has been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Spring All-Academic Team. In order to be named to the All-Academic team, students must have participated in a CACC spring championship sport, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have been a student at their current school for at least two semesters, and have achieved a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.5 or higher. Van Dyke, a second-baseman for the softball team, maintains a 3.89 grade point average with a double major in elementary education and history. She is a second-time CACC All-Academic honoree, and was also named a 2008 National Fastpitch Coaches Association scholar-athlete. A quad-captain, she hit .211 with nine runs scored and seven runs batted in during 36 starts for the Golden Falcons this season.
