Annamary 'Ann' Farley Woortman

    Annamary "Ann" Farley Woortman, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Bristol Glen Retirement Center in Newton. Born in Long Valley, N.J., to the late Walter and Sarah Farley, Mrs. Woortmann graduated Hackettstown High School and McDowell School of Design in New York City. She had lived in Hawthorne and Oakland before moving to Wantage in 1974 and most recently to Newton. She had worked at Monroe Calculating Company as a Machanical Illustrator in Orange before her retirement. Mrs. Woortman loved to sew and especially enjoyed making dresses, slip-covers, drapes and Ballet Costumes for children. She also enjoyed painting in oil and water color and received First Award in

    Water Color at the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show one year. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sussex for over 35 years, member of the United Presbyterian Women, Past President of the Sussex Garden Club, Past President of the Sussex-Wantage Library Board in 2001-02, and a member of the Hawthorne Chapter, O.E.S. 222 having served as Past Matron in 1972-1973. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Gerard "Jerry" in 2007 and her sister, Marie Farley. Mrs. Woortman is survived by her son, Gary A. Woortman and his wife, Faith, of Riverdale; her daughter, Patricia A. Jeffer and her husband, Robert, of Shohola, Pa.,; her four grandchildren, Heidi Martick, Mindy Woortman,

    Tamara Woortman, and Jerry Jeffer; her four great grandchildren, Gweyneth and Greta Jeffer and Connor and Adara Martick; and her sister, Josephine Farley of Hackettstown. . Friends may pay their respects to the family on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Funeral services will

    immediately follow on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church of Sussex, 23 Unionville Ave., Sussex, NJ 07461. Private interment at Fairmount Cemetery will be held at theconvenience of the family.
