    Charles A. Sargent, 82 years, passed away at Newton Medical Center in Newton on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014. Born in Palmerton, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles and Minverva (Noll) Sargent. Mr. Sargent has been a resident of Wantage for 60 years.

    Charles was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during the Korean War. He was a longtime self-employed sheet metal contactor serving the heating and air conditioning trades. He was a very dedicated family man and was a very hard worker over his many years.

    In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Robert, and a sister, Ellen. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years of marriage, Audrey (Dyer) Sargent of Wantage, his children Scott Sargent and his wife, Ilene, of Wantage, Gary “Buzz” Sargent and his wife, Cheryl, of Branchville, and Patricia Francavilla and her husband, Frank, of Wantage. Along with grandchildren: Melissa Vanderberg, Matthew Sargent, Stephaine Phillips, Victoria Francavilla, Nicholas Francavilla, Erin Longo and Rob Longo, and three great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews, and a sister Barbara of East Stroudsburg, Pa.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at the Beemerville Presbyterian Church, 226 County Road 519 Sussex, NJ 07461 (everyone meeting directly at the church), Interment to follow at Beemerville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third St., Sussex.
