Doraline May Abbate

Doraline May Abbate(nee Leonard), 84 years old, died after a short illness at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Warwick, N.Y., on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014. Born in Saugerties, N.Y., she had lived in Paterson, N.J., then Fairfield, N.J., for 40 years before moving to Vernon Twp., N.J., in 1993.

Doraline was a dedicated homemaker and a doting wife, mother and grandmother.She enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Mrs. Abbate is predeceased by her husband, Philip Robert Abbate (1988) and is the devoted mother of Philip Abbate and his wife, Kathleen, of Long Valley, N.J., Dennis Abbate and his wife, Leslie, of Hilton Head, S.C., and Lori Dorsey and her husband, Patrick, of Glenwood, N.J; loving grandmother of Anthony, Philip, Michael, Patrick and Krista Briett; dear sister of Arlene Susslin of Rosita, Pa., and Veronica Schamble of Garnet Valley, Pa.; cherished by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94(1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, NJ on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home will be Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis deSales RC Church, Vernon Twp., NJ at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Paterson, N.J.
