Elaine C. Bernardini, age 77, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, at Newton Medical Center. Born to the late Charles and Alice (Weber) Purcell, Mrs. Bernardini had lived in Secaucus before moving to Wantage in August. She was predeceased by her first husband, Werner Ahrendt in 1995 and her second husband, Walter Bernardini, in 2018. Mrs. Bernardini is survived by her sons, Steven Ahrendt and his wife Christine of Wantage and Robert Ahrendt of Kentucky and her two grandchildren, Maximilian and Elisabeth “Lilly.” Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019, at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Friends may pay their respects to the family three hours prior to the service from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
