Elizabeth 'Trudy' M. Simpson

    Elizabeth “Trudy” M. Simpson, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at her residence. Born in Stillwater to the late Lewis W. and Rachel M. (Weaver) Knecht, Mrs. Simpson has lived in Sussex County all of her life. She had been employed by the former A & P Supermarket and the former Ben Franklin Store in Sussex. She was a devoted member to the Sussex United Methodist Church for the past 70 years and belonged to their Woman’s Group. Many people know her from working in the kitchen during the church’s rummage sales, but mostly
    famous for her potato soup she made for the church luncheons. She is
    survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles W. Simpson; her son, Scott Simpson and his wife Karen of Wantage; her two daughters, Cheri Zeller and her husband John of Penn Yan, New York and Amy Cosh and her husband Ted of Wantage; her sister, Margaret Strunk of Washington; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
    A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sussex United Methodist Church, 15 Bank Street, Sussex, NJ 07461 or to Karen Ann Quinlan Center of Hope Hospice, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860.
