    George D. Murray, 90, passed away with his loving family at his side at his residence on Thursday, June 18, 2015. George was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Sept. 28, 1924, to the late David and Williamina (Black) Murray. He was a resident of Linden and North Arlington and for 41 years in Paramus, and moved in 1992 to Vernon.

    George served in the United States Army during WWII receiving the Purple Heart. He was employed at AT&T in Hackensack for 37 years retiring as a market manager in 1984. George was an avid Golfer and enjoyed his great grandsons Little League games.

    George is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Christine (Eden) Murray, and daughter Carol Boyle her husband, Thomas, of McAfee, and son, Donald Murray of Vernon, his two grandchildren, Melissa Fitch and Andrew Boyle, and his three great grandchildren, Nathan and James Fitch, and Molly Boyle.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Vernon United Methodist Church 303 Rt. 94, Vernon, N.J., on Saturday June 27, at 11 a.m. and may make donations to the church.
