    George W. Styles, 83 years old, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014.Born to Raymond and Levina Styles in Willow Grove, Penn., he had lived in Elizabeth, N.J., and Roselle, N.J., before moving to Vernon Twp.,20 years ago.

    Mr. Styles served with the United States Army during the Korean War and then owned and operated T&J Deli in Elizabethand then served as a foreman at S. Kaplan & Sons Scrapyard in Newarkfor 30 years. He then worked as a custodian at Glen Meadow School in Vernon Twp. for nine years. He then worked for Shop Rite in Frankln in the Deli Department for three years, and was most recently working as a handyman at Catholic Charities in Franklin. He was a parishioner of St. Francis deSales RC Church, Vernon Twp. and a member of the Sussex Elks Lodge.

    Mr. Styles was predeceased by his wife, Rose Styles(1998) and 20 brothers and sisters and was the devoted father of Steven Styles, Sr. and his wife, Tina, of Vernon NJ.Loving grandfather of Steven Styles, Jr., Stacey Jalowiec, Suzanne Styles and Scott Styles.Great-grandfather of Alecia, Jenna, Nicholas, Mason, Madox and Mirek. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends.

    Religious funeral service was held at at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home on Sunday at 6 p.m. Interment followed at Hazel Wood Cemetery, Rahwayon Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. Memorial gifts to Catholic Charities, 48 Wyker Road, Franklin, NJ 07416 would be appreciated.
