Jean Kathleen Witkowski Williams of Port Jervis dies at age 73

Jean Kathleen Witkowski Williams of Port Jervis, N.Y., died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at St. Joseph's Place. She was 73.

Daughter of the late William and the late Anna Arbutowich Witkowski, she was born Oct. 24, 1939 in Greenville Township, N.Y.

She worked as a Machine Operator for A&W Products in Port Jervis. She was a member of Teamsters Local #445, Newburgh, N.Y.

A family statement read: “She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She would go out of her way to help her family even at her own sacrifice. She would want everyone to remember the good times spent with her.”

Her husband of 19 years, Kenneth Allen Williams Sr., died on Sept. 20, 1978.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Williams and his wife, Wendysue Gurdineer, of Greenville Township, N.Y., and Jeffrey Williams of Newburgh, N.Y.; brothers, Joseph Witkowski of Port Jervis, Andrew Witkowski and his wife, Mary Lou, of Rio, N.Y., sisters, Frances Chase of Matamoras, Pa., Carol Eyth and her husband, Ronald, of Port Jervis, Anna Acton of Port Jervis, Helen Dolan and her husband, Newman, of Sussex, N.J.; one grandson, Tyler Williams; one granddaughter, Amanda Lee Williams; one great-grandson, Mason; two sisters-in-law: Joan Witkowski of Honesdale, Pa., and Gail Witkowski of Port Jervis; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers, William, Ronald and Michael Witkowski; her sister, Marie Witkowski; two brothers-in-Law, Wilton Chase and Walter Lee "Sonny" Acton; and one sister-in-law, Nancy Witkowski

Visitation was scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 28, with Blessing Service at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis.
