John T. Collins, 74, died on Friday Sept. 2, 2016. John was born on Jan. 14, 1942 in Ridgefield Park, N.J., to the late John J. and Elizabeth M. (McGarry) Collins. John was a resident of Wantage the last 45 years.
John was a Butcher for 33 years for the Grand Union in Ringwood, N.J., retiring many years ago. He was an avid New York Giants fan.
John was the loving husband for 54 years to Jo-Ann (Baeli) Collins, and father of Johnny Collins of Wantage, James Collins and his wife Alicia of Milford, Pa., Barbara Wilson and her husband Jim of Milford, Pa., Jeffery Collins and his wife Christina of Milford, Pa., and Brenda Collins of Sussex, and grandfather to 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons, and brother to Marguerite Placek and Mary Hetnar, and brother-in-law to Sandra Collins, and uncle to many nieces and nephews, and his faithful companion the late Coco.
Relatives and friends were received on Tuesday, Sept. 6, from 2-5 p.m. at the Ferguson Funeral Home 27 Third Street, Sussex, N.J. The family will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 9 a.m. for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Service at St. Monica’s RC Church, Sussex, NJ. Cremation service will be private.
