Louis Edward Cimaglia, 31 years old, died at home surrounded by his family on Friday, March 23, 2018, 9 1/2 years after a car accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury. Born to William and Maureen Cimaglia in Brooklyn, NY, he has lived in Vernon Twp., N.J., most of his life.
Louis received his BA in Social Services from Monmouth University (near the beaches he loved) and had nearly completed his Master’s Degree in social work. He enjoyed working as a mentor with at risk children and was a popular waiter at Milano’s Restaurant in Hamburg, N.J. He will be remembered for his contagious laugh and the fierce love he had for family, friends, and life.
Louis is the beloved son of Maureen Cimaglia of Vernon, NJ and William Cimaglia of Vernon, NJ. Dear brother of Dominique Gallagher of Calif., Charles Cimaglia and his wife, Jennifer of Vernon, N.J., and Derek-Peter Cimaglia and his wife, Tara of Evans, Ga. He is cherished by his 15 nieces and nephews. His memory and spirit will be carried on through all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94(1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, NJ on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 10 a.m. Funeral Mass to follow at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Highland Lakes, N.J., at 11:00 a.m. Cremation is private.
