Marie G. Otersen

Marie G. Otersen, 97, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Schervier Pavilion in Warwick, N.Y. Ms. Otersen, daughter of the late Herman and Valerie Otersen was born in New Jersey on May 2, 1926. She had resided in Cambria Heights, N.Y., for most of her life, recently moving to Warwick, NY.

Ms. Otersen was a hair stylist for 35 years. She enjoyed the time she would spend at the horse races, especially at Belmont Park.

Ms. Otersen was predeceased by a sister, Valerie Sammon and a niece, Christine Sammon. She is survived by a sister, Helen Otersen of Warwick, N.Y.; cousin Robert Pellet and his wife, Betty, of Highland Lakes; second cousins, Jennifer Pellet and her husband, Michael Gelfand, of Highland Lakes and Jeff Pellet of Clifton.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Rt. 94 (1 Vanderhoof Ct for GPS) Vernon. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, N.J.
