Patricia Ann Mullhaupt-Hoffmann (nee Freisinger), Sept. 24, 1963, to Dec. 15, 2017, 54 years old. Patti was finally called to fly with the angels after a long battle with cancer. She entered the trip peacefully in the arms of her loving husband, Michael, and leaves behind her sons, Timothy and Matthew Mullhaupt of Warwick, N.Y.; her stepson, Derrick Hoffmann of Highland Lakes; her sister, Suzanne Soule and her husband, Kirk, of Portland, OR; her mother, Leona Kline and her husband, Carl, of San Diego Calif.; and her father, Gerard Freisinger and his partner, Peg, of Warwick, N.Y., all at her bedside in the last days. In addition to family, she has many wonderful and helpful friends too numerous to mention. A special note of gratitude goes out to Connie and Finn Hegner, and good friends, Marianne Behle, Dottie Sanford and Renee Tilgham.
Patti was delivered at St. Anthony’s Hospital by her grandfather, Dr. Helmut Freisinger and went on to become a loving mother of two boys. She graduated from Pace University with her CPA, and worked as an accountant for Chubb, and then as office manager for her father before becoming business manager of Chelsea Assisted Living in West Milford, NJ. Her love for horses never faded from early Pony Club days until the last few weeks of illness. That fondness of horses and those who bonded with them was the best therapy during the stressful last year of life. She was known as a competitor, teacher and horse whisperer to her many friends where she lived at what was Borderland and is now Quiet Creek Stable in Warwick, N.Y.
The family is grateful for the efforts of her doctors and nurses locally at St. Anthony’s, at Columbia in NYC and especially the staff at Robert Wood Johnson NJ Cancer Center where she spent the final three weeks with her husband at her side the entire time.
