Peter Canevari

    Peter David Canevari of Warwick, N.Y. died on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick. He was 76 and had been a resident of the area for 50 years.

    Born June 8, 1936 in New York City, he was the son of Peter and Caroline (Medica) Canevari.

    He was married to Marguerite (Jacques) Canevari.

    Mr. Canevari was a delivery dispatcher with The New York Times in New York City as well as a member of the Teamsters Union, Newspaper Mail Delivery Workers.

    His family’s statement reads: “He loved his wife of 53 years, enjoyed sharing meals with his family and a house filled with joyful noise made by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He took great pride in his family. He loved to dance and make people laugh with his witty sense of humor. He loved his animals, dogs, cats, horses . . . all of them. He loved football and the Yankees. He was a true New Yorker.”

    He is survived by his wife Marguerite of Warwick; his children: Robert Rys of Philipsport and his children Samantha and April, Peter D. Canevari of Warwick and his companion Rose Skinner, Arthur Canevari and his wife Dawn of Warwick and their children Casey, Ryan and Christopher, Renee Allen and her husband John of Warwick and their children Angela, Anita, and Justin, Paul Canevari of Warwick and his children Nicholas, Jacquelyn, Joseph and Paul, and Caroline Canevari-Vogel and her husband Eddie of Wantage and their children Racquel and Anthony; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his uncle, Paul Medica and his wife Penny of Vernon.

    Funeral services were held at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, Warwick. Interment was in Warwick Cemetery.
