    Philip T. Belcher, age 77, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at his residence while surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 12, 1936, in Vernon to the late Lewis and Beatrice Belcher, Philip had been a resident of Sussex County all of his life. He had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Belcher had been a machinist at Accurate Forming in Hamburg and had retired from Metaltec in Franklin at the age of 62. He was predeceased by his brother, Gilbert “Sonny” Belcher; his sisters, Alice Cahill, Pearl Holley, Rosamond “Bucky” Kaiser, Beatrice “Peachy” Smith, and Mae Karalfa. Mr. Belcher is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan E. (Berghofer) Belcher; his three sons, Phil Belcher and his wife, Bernadine, of Wantage, Gary Belcher and his wife, Lisa, of North Carolina, and Edward Belcher and his wife, Jacqueline, of Monroeton, PA; his two daughters, Janet Vealey of North Carolina and Jill Paddock and her husband, Bob, of Hardyston; his brother, Lewis Belcher of Florida; his grandchildren, Elora, Shane, Bobby, Amanda, Stephen, Michael, Jeffrey, and Jessica; his great-grandchildren, Landon and Reid; and many loving nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Friends may pay their respects to the family two hours prior to the service on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m..
