    Richard George Livak, 71 years old, died after a short illness at Newton Medical Center, Newton, N.J., on Friday, Aug. 26, 2016. Born to George and Cecelia Livak in Somerville, N.J., he lived in Piscataway and Highbridge, N.J. before moving to Vernon Twp., NJ in 1978.
    Richard served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War and earned his BA in Business from Rutgers University. He then worked as a financial analyst for American Cyanamid in Parsippany for 29 years retiring in 1999. Richard enjoyed playing golf and gardening.
    Richard is predeceased by his father, George Livak and is the husband for 49 years of Judith Livak (nee Simko). Father of Jennifer Livak-Malandro and her husband, Kenneth of Flemington, N.J., Caralynn Ferrrara and her husband, Darren of Flanders, N.J., Amanda Livak of Vernon, N.J., and Susan Burke and her husband, Kerry of Maplewood, N.J. Grandfather of Jack, Morgan and Riley. Son of Cecelia Livak of Vernon, N.J.
