Robert J. Ross

Robert J. Ross, 70, of Hardyston Twp. died after a short illness at his home on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013.

Born to William and Celia Ross in Nanticoke, Pa., he spent most of his adult life in West Milford, before moving to the Crystal Springs section of Hardyston Twp., 12 years ago.

Ross received his Masters Degree in Education and served as Principal of Jefferson Twp. High School for 20 years and was a professor at William Paterson College and for the last five years served as an Educational Consultant at Passaic County Technical Institute. He was a parishioner at St. Thomas of Aquin RC Church in Ogdensburg and was an avid golfer.

Ross is the beloved husband of Joanne Ross (nee McGarry). Devoted father of Christine Alois of Wyoming, DE and Becky Ross of Harrisburg, Pa. Father in law of Vincent and Nick. Loving grandfather of Vincent and Samantha. Cherished by many friends, colleagues and his “Lady Mulligan”.

The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94, Vernon on Wednesday, Feb. 20 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas of Aquin RC Church, Ogdensburg. Interment to follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Ogdensburg.
