Ronald Bobiak

    Ronald Bobiak, age 66, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at his residence. He was born in Ashland, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph and Anna (Burack) Bobiak. Prior to entering college, Ron had served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, as the Principal Clarinetist in the 76 Army Band Tascon. He then went to Montclair University, where he met his future wife of over 41 years, Judith Irene Bobiak. They started their adult life living and teaching in Australia and then moved to Parsippany, before finally landing in Sussex County, in 1978. From there, he became a music teacher in the Hopatcong District and obtained his Master’s Degree from Montclair University. He retired in 2007.
    Mr. Bobiak was a member of the American Legion in Frackville, Pa., and more recently joined the American Legion Post 213 in Wantage, NJ. He was a 20-year member of the Franklin Band, where he served as the conductor for 10 years. He loved music, golf, the outdoors, his family, and God.
    Mr. Bobiak is survived by his wife, Judy; his son, Andrew Bobiak and his wife, Maria, and their children Allen Joseph and Isabella Marie of Amherst, New Hampshire; his daughter, Lesley-Anne and her partner Leonard Rick of West Norriton, PA; and his brother, Joseph Bobiak, Jr. and his wife Carol of Stroudsburg, PA, and their children Tara Bobiak and her husband Evan Sandhaus and Jennifer Tifft and her husband Douglas.
    A Ukranian Catholic Funeral Liturgy was held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at St. Monica R.C. Church, 33 Unionville Avenue, Sussex, NJ 07461. Interment to follow at Mount Salem Cemetery in Wantage. Friends paid their respects to the family on Friday, June 24, 2016, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex with Parastas services during the evening visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made in Ronald Bobiak’s memory to Karen Ann Quinlan Center of Hope Hospice, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860.
