    Lt. Col. Ronald S. Liss, M.D., 81, died Monday Dec. 16, 2013 at Morristown Medical Center. Dr. Liss was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and has resided in Wantage Twp. since 1972.

    Dr. Liss was an orthopedic surgeon and maintained a practice in Vernon for 35 years, retiring in 2006. He was a retired Lt. Col. with the U.S. Army, having served in both the Vietnam era and the Gulf War. He also was a very proud farmer.

    Dr. Liss is survived by his wife, Lyn Liss; children, Steven Liss of Frankford Twp and Sherrie Swafford of Bakersfield, CA; grandson Brandon and 3 sisters and a brother.

    Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Rt. 94 (Vanderhoof Ct.for GPS) Vernon. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.
