Today [Jan. 20] marks one year since my son left this world. So I say to you, Stephen, when I think of you it will only be of happy times, when I look at your picture I will know you are well and that you are still living a life, just in another place. When I feel your presence, I will know it is because you are present and here to watch over me, when I dream of you I will know it's because you have answered my prayers of me wishing I could just spend one more precious moment with you. When I go in your room and see your things I will know you left them here for me to have good memories, when family, friends and neighbors send a kind word, I will know it is you inspiring them to reach out and give me support. AND when I think I hear your voice I will surely know it is you reminding me you never left me.

Every year on this day, Jan. 20, I will not be grieving your loss but celebrating your new life. To my son Stephen, I love you always, Mom
