Theresa 'Terri' Martin

Theresa “Terri” Martin, 68 years, of the Barry Lakes section of Vernon Twp. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Warwick, N.Y. Born in Passaic, N.J., she was the daughter of Rosalie (Mastrella) Torres and the late Frank Torres. Terri has been a resident of Vernon Twp. for the past 44 years and prior to that had resided in Clifton, N.J.

Terri was a longtime (30 years) Coordinator of Religious Education at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Highland Lakes, retiring from that position in 2009. In her spare time she enjoyed being at the ocean. Being a devoted member of Our Lady of Fatima she will always be remember by family and fellow parishioners as truly an angel on earth that selflessly gave to all. She left a footprint on everyone’s heart she met.

In addition to her father she was predeceased by her beloved husband Emil R. Martin, Sr. (2000). She is survived by her mother Rosalie Torres of Lodi, NJ, daughters Dawn Martin of Vernon and Staci Acker of Dingmans Ferry, PA, and a son Emil R. Martin, Jr. of Gouldsboro, PA. Brothers John Torres of Saddlebrook, NJ and Frank Torres of Lodi, NJ, along with her loving grandchildren Gordy, Adam, Richard, Ryan, Amber, Lucas, Sabrina, and Ayla.

Mass of Christian burial were scheduled for 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church 184 Breakneck Rd. Highland Lakes, NJ Interment followed at Glenwood Cemetery Vernon, NJ.
