    Thomas Ralph Miranda, 87 years old, died at his residence on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 after a long illness. Born in Paterson, N.J., he had lived in Paterson, N.J. before moving to Pleasant Mount, Pa., in 1990.

    Mr. Miranda served with the United States Army and then became a painter with the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Local #711 out of Egg Harbor Twp., N.J. for many years before retiring in 1989. He took great joy in hunting and fishing.

    Mr. Miranda was predeceased by his wife, Lillian M. Miranda (2005); a son, David Smith; a daughter, Debra Scott and 7 brothers and sisters and was the devoted father of Theresa Kowalski of Glenwood, N.J., Floyd Scott of Pleasant Mount, Pa., Cindy Miranda of Pleasant Mount, Pa. and Jack Scott of Hudson, Fla. Cherished by 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Josephine MacDonald of Wayne, N.J.
