Veronica Jean Babcock

Veronica Jean Babcock (nee Ross), 72 years old, died after a short illness at Andover Subacute and Rehab Center on Friday, June 27, 2014. Born to Wesley and Theresa Ross in Wantage Twp., N.J., she was a lifelong resident of Wantage Twp., N.J.

Mrs. Babcock received her BA in Home Economics from Montclair State College and worked as a substitute teacher and then as a bus driver for the Sussex-Wantage Board of Education for 25 years before retiring in 2006. She was a life member and first female member of the Colesville Fire Department. She enjoyed reading, was an avid genealogist and a doting grandmother.

Mrs. Babcock was the beloved wife for 56 years of Orin Babcock, Sr. of Wantage Twp., N.J. Devoted mother of Debra Mankovich of Orlando, Fla., Orin Babcock, Jr. of Wantage Twp., N.J., and Kathleen DeMott of Wantage Twp., N.J., cherished by 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Private burial services were directed by Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third Street, Sussex,NJ.
