William and Margaret Rogers

William (Bill) Patrick Rogers, 86, of Vernon, passed away in his home unexpectedly on Aug. 31, 2016. Margaret (Maggie) Mary Rogers (Moore), 66, of Vernon passed away peacefully at the Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon on Sept. 4, 2016, from a short battle with cancer.
Both husband and wife resided in Vernon, N.J. for 33 years. Bill was twice retired; first from the Passaic County Post Office, as a letter carrier, and later from the Vernon Twp. Board of Education, as a custodian. Bill was also notably an Army Veteran. Maggie recently retired from the Vernon A&P where she worked as a receiver for 30 years.
Bill and Maggie are survived by their son, Matthew, and his wife, Laurie Rogers of Pace FL; their daughters, Tara Carriker (Rogers) of Charlotte, N.C., and Bevan Rogers of Bushkill, Pa. They are also survived by their grandchildren; Hunter, William, Chad, and Allison Rogers, and Jonathan Carriker.
Bill is survived by his nephew, John Dauenhauer of East Rutherford, N.J., and his niece Jane Dauenhauer of Fairfield, N.J., and other extended family. Maggie is survived by her loving mother, Margaret (Peggy) Moore of Hamburg, N.J., as well as her supportive brothers William Moore of Clifton, N.J., his wife, Mary, their children, and grandchildren; and Joe Moore of Columbia, N.J., his wife Maureen, and their children. Maggie is also survived by many wonderful first cousins and extended family.
A private Celebration of Life, will be held for Bill and Maggie at High Point State Park, NJ for family and friends, at a later (TBD) date.
