Three-medal winner

Joe Farinella, a 70-year-old Andover resident and member of the Sparta Runners Club, participated in the Disney World full and half marathons in Orlando in mid-January. Farinella participated in the Donald Duck half marathon on Saturday, with a time of two hours, 38 minutes; and the Mickey Mouse marathon the next day, with a time of five hours 28 minutes. He received the Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse and Goofy medals for the completion of both races with a combined mileage of 39.3 miles. Farinella trained with his running club and and at the Sussex County YMCA for this event.
