Two SCCC professors honored

    NEWTON — Michael Love, Ph.D., and Assistant Professor James Rawlins were named the 2010 NISOD winners at Sussex County Community College’s faculty and staff recent annual recognition awards ceremony. The National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development award is given to educators at community colleges who strive for teaching excellence. It is the outreach organization to the Community College Leadership Program at the University of Texas at Austin. Love came to the college in 2007 as a chemistry and forensic science instructor and serves on the Technology Service Committee and the Scholarship Award Committee. Prior to SCCC, Dr. Love also taught chemistry at the County College of Morris. Rawlins came to to the college in 1990 and is English Department chair. Prior to SCCC, Rawlins taught at Union County College, Middlesex Community College and Rutgers University. Since its inception in 1978, NISOD has emphasized the importance of teaching and leadership excellence in institutions of higher education. NISOD has worked to serve, engage, and inspire teachers and leaders through conferences, publications, web services, partnerships, programs, and more.
