A celebration for grandparents and grandchildren

SUSSEX - Sussex Borough has a special event planned for National Grandparents’ Day on Sun., Sept. 13.in and around Deckertown Commons and Fountain Square from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. It’s aimed at bringing grandparents and grandchildren together for an afternoon of fun activities, according to Michael Honold, an agent for New York Life in Sussex Borough. And it’s being planned by New York Life Insurance Company and the Sussex Borough Merchants Association, Among the many activities planned: Storytellers from Tri-State Actors Theatre will be on hand. Kiddie Academy in Wantage plans to host a craft table for grandparents and their grandchildren to work on projects together. The Hair Lounge in Wantage will offer women free makeovers. A variety of safety clinics will be held for seniors The NJ State Police will give free checks on child car seat installation Franklin-Sussex Auto Mall plans to raffle off a flat-screen TV.
