A musical evening

The Webelos Cub Scout Den of Cub Pack 183 in Vernon recently met at the home of Cherwyn and Hal Ambuter, where they worked to fulfill their belt link requirements. The boys had to be able to tell why music is important to American culture, to listen to four different styles of music and to learn two verses of a song by heart. Cherwyn Ambuter played four Christmas song arrangements in a classical, jazz, Celtic and rock style. Ambuter, a pianist and piano teacher, showed them the inside of the piano and how the piano works to create sound. The Cubs also learned to clap and count various rhythmic notes, and chose their favorite carols to sing, accompanied by the piano. Attending the gathering were Kevin Parisi, Christian Scott, Mike Kubik,, Matt Kubik, Sergio Germinario, Phillip Perrotta, Tanner Sommese, Andrew Nangle, André Ambuter, and Cherwyn Ambuter.
