Attracting butterflies

Sussex County Freeholders have declared May community service month and Cub Scout Troops 183 and 283 took up the call by planting a butterfly garden at Vernon Memorial Park. Vernon Township donated all the plants and the kids and parents got to digging. Professional naturalist and den leader Dennis Miranda directed the boys in the design and layout of the garden. The plants were chosen to attract butterflies and will be maintained by the pack for years to come.
