Back to school with temporary tattoos

Newton If you ask your college-aged son or daughter what they did on the first day of school don’t be surprised if they start rolling up their sleeves to show you. Relax, it is not permanent! The Student Activities Office of Sussex County Community College greeted new and returning students with Balloon and Body Art by husband and wife team Lester and Susan McNealy of Harmony, Fla. “We do many college events,” said Lester McNealy. “We did about 100 last year.” Working from a colorful tray of balloons, Lester, taking requests from the crowd in the cafeteria, created any animal imaginable. Making an octopus posed no problem and a fairy took no time at all. Susan McNealy had a steady stream of living canvases for her body art. “The most popular body parts painted today has been the arms,” said Susan. “The women usually ask for floral art and the guys favor tribal art.” Her paint palette included fluorescent colors and she used glitter on some of her artwork to give it a twinkle.
