Morristown — Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Morris and Sussex Counties recently received a grant award of $1,000 from TD Bank’s Charitable Foundation. This award will be directed toward supporting CASA’s work in the Family Drug Court Program. In this program, CASA advocates for abused and neglected children whose parents are afflicted with substance abuse. Since its inception in 2002, the foundation has contributed over $39 million in grant funding to not-for-profit organizations in the communities where it does business. CASA of Morris and Sussex Counties is an independent non-profit organization whose mission is to advocate for the right of abused, neglected, and abandoned children from the community to safe and permanent homes. CASA trains community volunteer advocates to speak up for and become champions for these children within the Family Court system.
