SUSSEX — A bomb threat at the Sussex Middle School on June 1 turned out to be a hoax but that was not discovered before administrators sent about 600 students home early as a precaution. After receiving a note about a bomb, officials from the Sussex-Wantage Regional School District contacted the New Jersey State Police notifying them of the threat, according to Kathryn Compa, a member of the district’s Board of Education. Students were sent home slightly before the normal dismissal time of 3:23 p.m., she said. Compa said that a student has been apprehended in the matter. A call by The Advertiser News to S-W Regional Superintendent Dr. Edward Izbicki was not returned prior to the newspaper’s deadline.
