I’ve been working in the beauty industry for 25 years. I opened Pro-Files in Vernon in 1995 and continue to work there two days a week. Pro-Files, under new ownership, now offers only nail and skin care services. I chose to open Visions above Pro-Files and offer hair and cosmetic services. What do you do when you are not working? I spend as much time as I can with my husband, my son and my french bulldog. My daughter lives in England and thanks to Facebook and Skype we stay in touch. I also enjoy taking ballroom dance lessons. Michelle of Pochuck Valley Farms Market and Deli Celebrating 97 years 962 Rt 517 (McAfee- Glenwood Rd.) Vance started working here when he was 14 years old and when he was in his 20s he bought the farm from Charles Martin and since then the farm has been family owned and operated. The store and farm is run by my parents Harry and Barbara Vance. What is your favorite book or movie? Why? "Jaws. I've seen it hundreds of times and I still jump every time the shark attacks. If you were too big to fail and your business received money from the federal government, what would you do with it? Improve the farm to make it more of a green farm with solar energy, wind energy and more energy efficient products, and fix the barns and buildings. Michelle Krongberg of The Hip Flea Market Celebrating 1 year 111 Main Street Franklin, NJ 973-823-6373 How did you get involved in the business? We had purchased the building and had first thought we would rent it. As it turned out we thought about it and decided to open a retail store that had not only great different new items but used household items as well. What do you do when you are not working? My off days are spent taking care of my family and finding new great stuff for the store. If you were too big to fail and your business received money from the federal government, what would you do with it? Possibly advertise more, and donate to locals in need. Charmaine & Bill Van Wingerden of Augusta Hill Farms, LLC Celebrating 7 years 47 Augusta Hill Road Augusta, NJ 973-948-0551 How did you get involved in the business? The Van Wingerden families have been growing in the US for many years. What is the most hectic time and why? Spring Saturdays. Everyone is decorating their yards with flowers and veggies. Why do you think the paper should write about you? Our business is located on a farm setting. We have cows, chickens and dogs. There’s nothing commerical about us. Our prices are very fair, we sell what we grow, therefore we are able to extend reasonable prices to the consumer.
