Call for entries for veteran pin contest

The Sussex County Veterans Committee invites high school students to create the design for the 2009 Veterans pin that will be distributed at the ninth annual “Salute the Military Veterans” in November. In addition to a parade, exhibits, entertainment and refreshments, the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders will honor all Veterans present by awarding them the Veterans pins. The winner of the pin contest will receive a $100 savings bond. The pin must be no larger than on inch at its widest part, and the pin must include the words “Sussex County” and “veteran.” All submissions must include name, address, telephone, school and grade. Designs must be camera ready and submitted via CD to Sussex County Division of Senior Services, One Spring Street, Newton, 07860, or e-mail to seniorservices@sussex.nj.us. Submission deadline is Friday, June 19. The winner will be notified by the Sussex County Division of Senior Services and honored at the ninth annual Salute to Military Veterans.
